Leap Day

The owls are not what they seem

So I guess this is my first post. It all started on the Leap Day of 2016... But this is just an outfit that I assembled and wanted to show you guys through instant photos. I understand that you can't see my outfit very well, so I'll explain it to you. I'm wearing a white, oversized turtleneck which is ribbed  and a cheetah print (not leopard print guys) skirt. It reminds me of the skirts that the women wear in the original star trek series. It has really cute pug buttons. It's really unique to me. Both are from the Salvation Army. My shoes are chunky plain black and remind me of character shoes. I also have black socks with lace at the top. The shoes were from goodwill and the socks are from forever 21. Most of the time I'm in a thrift shop because my mom will leave me there for hours at a time just so I can search the entire store.

I've been wanting to you've been wanted to take more photos lately, not only because of my jealously of my sisters beautiful Fujimax camera (cough, cough), but because I watched this documentary recommended to me on Netflix called "Finding Vivian Maier" which is about a mysterious artist who never put herself out there.

She lived her whole life taking beautiful photographs and seeing the world the way it was, but she died without showing the photos to anyone. A man (forgot his name) bought pictures that she took from an auction and decided to make her known because her photos are gorgeous and are very well done. Although she was eccentric and not normal, she still had friends and still had a life as a nanny. If you see the documentary, you'll learn more. Here's some pictures that she took with her Rolleiflex camera:
I find this one particularly haunting.

This is Vivian Maier taking a cool self portrait with the mirrors.

She would take pictures of random people on the street. She was daring and she wasn't afraid to get up in peoples business to take pictures.

I just wanted to show you these cool pictures that Vivian Maier took so you could get the feel of what she did. She was really inspiring because she had a vintage feel to her photos and her life and had a smart mind that knew more about the world. She did had a dark side to her, but who doesn't?

I really just wanted to start posting on his blog because I wanted to share my life with the world and I wanted to share my opinions with you.

Peace out.

Alex
