A Head Full Of Dreams

I just finished watching Friends for the first time and I think Phoebe is my spirit animal. Anyway, I just decorated a journal that I'm going to use to write and draw in. Here it is.

The pictures of girls and the eye are from the September 2015 Edition of Teen Vouge. The space pictures are from Astrology magazine.

This is from a few pages that I wrote about Earth Day.

These my chubby legs don't part attention to those.

I just thought this journal would be good to write about the associates that I see in the everyday world and how it interacts with my life. I don't care if it looks like a diary or not it's a bug recording of my life as I see it so call it what you must.

DIY HEADBANDS

Hey world! I made really cool headbands with hot glue, sea findings, and naked headbands. I'm going to show you the radness! (Yes I'm using a cheesey exclamation point).

I'm wearing a white lace forever 21 dress that I actually got from a thrift shop (score). I have on my holographic creepers that I found and bought somewhere deep in the internet!
Again, I'm only wearing mascara...

look! It has a fancy collar thing!

dresscode.

The reason why in the last post my hair is purple and here it's red is that I dyed it today. I was trying to go for a Van Gogh look or an Amelia Pond kind of vibe. I didn't want my hair to be "um, you got some of your victims blood in your hair" red but I also didn't want "oh, so you want to be a clown when you grow up" red. I wanted to look like a natural red head but that may be an act of betrayal towards the gingers... sorry.

This crown's colour (I'm from America) scheme is an orangey/brown kind of thing and the crown is made of shells and 2 pieces of sea glass. All of these sea findings are from my mom's deployment to GTMO when she would take walks on the beach. She has JARS AND JARS OF THIS STUFF.
This was an accident but it looks cool.
And this is the seashell crown in all of its glory.

And here is my other headband:
It's made from sea glass and two silver beads that are shaped like stars. IT IS VERY VERY HEAVY especially with the glass and all of the hot glue. Two layers front and back. I burnt myself for this headband. It took effort.
It looks good with my hair color now because green and red are opposite colors on the color scale.

[left] This is my cream colored button up blouse that reminds me of pilgrims and [right] my tacky skirt. I realize that it's kinda short. that's why you wear shorts under it (dorp).

I'm wearing geometric cut out, black combat boots.

 yeah I blinked.
I feel aesthetic.

Okay well there are my seapunk crowns with my plants in the background. Tumblr would abuse these photos. wouldn't they?

come sail away

Hey peoples!

Lately I've been inspired by the mod style of the 60s. Whether it's the geometric shapes or the halcyon aura of the whole concept, it's fantastic. Plus, it started in Britain (I know it just got 10 times better).

Here are some pictures to demonstrate mod:

This is twiggy, famous for her mod makeup.

And a link from Rookie on how to do the mod eye makeup.

So I used the clothes and makeup that I had to emulate these outfits to what I had a perspective of when it came to mod. I think of teenagers from the vintage world putting a start into the way people see fashion today. You see, I am not obsessed with fashion but I am obsessed with humanity and the fascination that I have with our years of culture. Mod is a style created by us and how we were trying to make a statement.

Google defines it as
noun
BRITISH
  1. 1.
(especially in the early 1960s) a young person of a subculture characterized by stylish dress, the riding of motor scooters, and a liking for soul music.

is any one else in love with this definition. I'm going to marry it.

Here is my interpretation of this style:
(Sorry for my awkward poses and terrible camera quality)

My shirt is a plain white ribbed long sleeved turtleneck and my skirt is denim scraps from forever 21. I have twiggy styled eyeliner in brown at the bottom of my eyes and concealer.

and another outfit:

My hair is just plain old straitened.

I'm not wearing any makeup except for black mascara and I would be wearing more 60s style eyeshadow but I'm at my dad's house currently and I have no makeup here. I'm wearing a black and white grid dress which adds a flare to the geometric idea to the entire style.

The dress has slight flares on the ends of the sleeves and the bottom of the dress and I thought it looked kind of 60s/70s that way. There is a gold bead at the top and a hole but it's not too big. Although I wanted to add a collar, I didn't because I wanted to post as soon as I could and adding a collar would add more time. By the way, the brand of the dress is HAANI and I got it from a thrift shop.

My shoes are are my black grungey work boot things  which I've blogged about before.

And this is the end of my tiny mod revolution.

Strange Magic

Youth Playlist
Carmen // Lana Del Rey
Every Tear Drop is a Waterfall // Coldplay

Yeah, I know. Angsty teen music.
Deal with it.

This week has been one of the most slowest weeks of my life. The boredom was mostly caused by school, as always. Sometimes in class I wonder what I could be doing with my life instead of school - but before you judge too quickly and think that I'm one of the rebellious teenagers who's only purpose is to hate school, but I actually care.

I'm not saying to get rid of school for good, I'm just putting it out there that they should change the school system if they want kids with more intelligent and have focused minds. In science class, my mind was very off task and it was just rolling around in my head not knowing what to do. That's probably not good.

But school is an unsolvable problem as a child.

But thinking of what I would do out of school made me think of the possibilities in the world. For example: I would get a job and I would make enough money for 2-3 years for traveling or to start a business. I don't have to pay any bills or any debt, so I could even make money for college.

I would do photography around the city or start a garden.

I would live my life with less worry and more freedom. I would share my creativity and actually have a social life. I feel that school is not very natural as a human being. I mean, yes, stuff 1000 kids into one building and monotonously teach them as they sit in plastic chairs for hours as if they were dolls, be scolded to be quiet. How fun, right?

Maybe if they taught us life skills and made classes shorter, there would be something worth doing there.

IN OTHER WORDS I COULD DO SOMETHING PRODUCTIVE WITH MY LIFE.

Sorry for the rant, but it was worth it.

Some of these photos are from thestylerookie and others from @isabizzy on instagram and unif. Halsey, valfre, and tumblr.

Have a great day.

Don't do drugs, kids.

thrifting

Hey people! I went thrifting today at a new Good Will. It's only been open for a month and I finally checked it out, but I couldn't find a lot of good clothing. Of course I was with my family and they don't actually spend any time at thrift shops - or shopping at all for that matter - while I will take hours. I only went through a rack of women's t-shirts and some shoes. I did find a pair of shoes that are an absolute beauty! Here's what they look like:

Ladies and Gentlemen, my ankles

brand: Timerland
size: unknown (I actually don't know my shoe size)

They kind of look like work boots which I think is cool because I can use them for hiking and walking but I can also wear them with whatever outfit I want because of the simplicity of them. That whole sentence may seem weird to people who do "fitness" but a lot of my shoes are for decoration because they're always either heels or strong platforms but these are very comfortable.

They are SUPER SQUEAKY which is great because I can annoy people just by walking :)

They are a mix between oxfords and as I said work boots. They are very grungey to me so Courtney Love, watch out.

I also devised a playlist for my fellow blog readers because you have no idea to what I listen to, so here's one just for you:

People You May Know

Although "Terrence Loves You" doesn't really fit, it had a name in the title so I though that I might as well put it in there (you know, because Lana has a beautiful AND BRILLIANT voice). I don't often listen to the Plain White Tees just that song hits me for some reason.

This is just a formal update; I'll try to post frequently. (Huh, I think I actually used a semi-colon correctly).
