bjork is my new inspiration for everything I do in life
This one is mysterious, and the lyrics need to be tattooed on my body because they are glued to my heart. It reminds me of a calming, melancholy ballerina with a yearn for love. It also reminds me of a spider, but I'm pretty sure the cigarette strands are a metaphor for her unravelling heart.
This one in particular matches my aesthetic right now. Greens, nature, her lace dress, and the messy naturalness to it all. She just lets it all out ugh I'm so in love with this video christ.
So you kiddos know that I'm obsessed with Alexander McQueen's intricate mind and how his aesthetics are, right? Well, a while ago I found out that he and Bjork did a collab back in the day. She also did a tribute at his funeral but I cry seeing it, so here's the one from when he was alive:
She's so mysteriously human.
Plus this is just so artsy it gives me warm chills. Like seeing a butterfly on a cold day.
I'm so just obsessed with the galactic teenage room that is the universe already and Bjork makes me so fulfilled and just so full of wonder. And just the way she says saliva makes my mind dance.
This is just a backdrop projected on the queen when she is singing on stage, but it's so gr9. Usually I look at artificial constructs such as worn down buildings and pieces in a museum and the painted lines on the concrete street with wonder, but lately it's all been full of nature and the world around me. The sea portrays this with so much vivid imagery and playful colors.
The cartoon visuals in this music video are slightly gorey but unique. It reminds me a lot of Enid's room from Ghost World for some reason. It has a galactic feel to it as well, but more of a fake one. She's so creative. It feels nostalgic in a way that I've never seen before, similar to her lyric's message. "I miss you but I haven't met you yet." I've felt this distant feeling of eet where I miss something and have a yearning for something that I haven't ever known or felt.
Just inspect this one for youself and feel the smooth beats of the music glide through your veins and into your heart. Just experience it, it's so GOOOODD. It's probably one of my favorites.
This song gives me those digital vibes of eternal dreaming and shocking distress. It looks like it's on drugs yes, but my favorite part about this is that it's so dreamy even though everything isn't liquified and smooth. It doesn't glide, it's kinda choppy, but it works well and isn't hazy in the slightest.
I'll leave you with this one:
The theatrical response it gives to it's audience is so ecstatic and classic. It reminds me of my quivering emotions. From tired to hyper, from happy to sad. Quiet to Loud.
UGH I need to make a Bjork look book.
Her music and style are my new guidelines for life.
Have a special day.
Alexandria
